NFL Week 2 Fantasy Football Sleepers

Week 2! Its time to put the women and children to bed and go out looking for dinner! Week 1 was a roller coaster. We had some big time hits and some heartbreaking misses. The performance that we hoped OBJ had was one week off, as he had an awesome game on Thursday night and returned the value that we wanted form him at such a low cost...but he didn't do shit in week 1. We are not going to hit them all. Nobody gets 100% of the calls correct but when we can bring home a few each week that makes a huge difference.

The Josh Jacobs call was a huge play for us last week. He was our number one play on the book and we had him in a majority of lineups. Jacobs was the main reason that we were able to turn last week's shitshow into a profit. Cam ended up having a decent enough game at his price to differentiate our lineups just enough and Ertz and Goedert both put up solid numbers at tight-end. Defense on the other hand was a complete mess. Both the Eagles and the Colts did not do anything close to what we expected. We would have been better off by playing the Washington D, who look like they may be the real deal with an explosive Defensive line.

Overall, Jacobs, Cam and Juju held it down for the SportsWave in week 1. Who will it be this week?

We are coming into week 2 with a little better of an idea of what to look for. Last week was essentially the pre-season. We saw some big injuries (James Connor getting hurt crushed Starfishes lineup and Leveon going down was a bummer for us as well) and some lackluster performances (Wentz started off hot as hell but when he cooled off he was as frozen as the Jamaican bobsled team was in Cool Runnings).

Keep in mind that these plays are to be used as sleepers and are meant to be used in correlation with your stars. We choose low usage and low cost plays that will make your lineups different form others in big field DFS tournaments (GPPs). The goal is to use some of these plays along with the no-brainer (star) plays and make the perfect lineup so you can bring home the Turkey! Buy a house, a new car, waste it all on ladies of the night and party items. Spend it on whatever the hell is your fancy. That is up to you but it all starts here.

UPDATE:

QB-  MATTY ICE-PLAYING MORE MATT RYAN THEN WE ANTICIPATED. MURRAY AND LAMAR ARE STILL OUT TOP QB PLAY BUT WE ARE THROWING SOME RYAN LINEUPS IN AS A MID-TIER BETWEEN THE GUNS AND THE CHEAP PLAYS (TEDDY). THE ATL/DAL GAME IS GOING TO BE A SHOOTOUT. THE BET ON THIS GAME IS THE OVER FOR SURE.

RB- MILES SANDERS- IT LOOKS LIKE MILES SANDERS WILL NOT BE LIMITED AT ALL. THE BIRDS NEED HIM TO THRIVE. WE EXPECT BIG NUMBERS FORM THE EAGLES RB1.

FOURNETTE- WE ARE GOING TO ROLL THE DICE AND THROW HIM INTO A SMALL PERCENTAGE (ABOUT 10%) OF LINEUPS. WE CANT GUARANTEE THAT HE SEES AN INCREASED WORKLOAD BUT HE HAS TO MUCH TALENT TO BE SITTING ON THE SIDELINE. BRADY AND THE BOYS WILL NEED HIM AND WE ARE BETTING ON IT BEING SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.

WR- MIKE EVANS WILL SEE AN INCREASED AMOUNT OF TARGETS WITH GODWIN OUT. HE IS GOING TO BE HIGHLY OWNED THOUGH SO THIS PLAY WONT MAKE YOUR LINEUP CONTRARIAN BUT YOU MAY NEED HIM IN TO KEEP UP WITH EVERYONE ON THE WAY TO THE TOP.

RUGGS AND SUTTON ARE BOTH UP IN THE AIR BECAUSE OF INJURIES. SUTTON IS FACING THE TOP DEFENSE IN THE LEAGUE (PITT) AND RUGGS PLAYS MONDAY NIGHT AND MAY NOT BE WORTH HOLDING IN YOUR LINEUP (ALTHOUGH IF HE PLAYS I SEE HIM HAVING A NICE GAME). WE ARE LOOKING ELSEWHERE THIS WEEK.

TE-JONNU SMITH-HE WILL GET LOOKS IN THE TENNESSE PASSING GAME. IF YOU JUST NEED A DECENT CONTRIBUTION AT A LOW COST. JONNU IS YOUR GUY.

D- TENNESSE IS OUR GO TO IF YOU CNAT FIT BUFFALO OR SAN FRAN INTO YOUR LINEUP.

Here is what we are looking at for Week 2:

JB's Picks:

Week 1 wasn’t my best performance to say the least with picks but it’s a weird year and I expect things to even out once the offenses get rolling . With that being said here is my week 2 picks

QB -JOSH ALLEN

Cam just shredded Miami and I expect Allen to do the same with his legs and his arm . He is coming off his first career 300 yard passing game. That probably made his bird move.  His ownership will be high but worth it with one of the best matchups on the slate for QBs.

RB- JONATHON TAYLOR

Priced low on FanDuel and RB1 upside with Marlon Mack now done for the year . I am rolling with Taylor in daily and season long . He struggled with drops in college yet had 4 of 6 receptions last week . Even with Hines taking passing down role I love Taylor this week and going forward jump on it now and let the good times roll !

WR - DIONTE JOHNSON

Big Ben targeted Johnson 10 times last week . While he didn’t score that volume alone shows Ben trusts him . Add in the fact he running the routes and position Antonio Brown ran in the offense I expect him to have a huge week after the volume and attention shown his way last week .

TE - TYLER HIGBEE

My beloved Iggles made Logan Thomas look like Travis Kielce . The LB are bad in coverage and I think Jared small hands Goff looks Higbee’s way early and often with this one . I think with Cupp struggling and the matchup against Philly’s LB could spell a big day for Higbee

D- Arizona

Philly never made Haskins uncomfortable last week letting him throw underneath all day with short intermediate routes . Not this week as they will be playing from behind all game and Haskins just isn’t good . I expect him to hold the ball too long while trying to make too many plays with his feet and forcing the ball causing multiple turnovers and fantasy gold for Arizona’s D

Chol's Picks:

QB -TEDDY B

Teddy isnt someone that expect to play alot this year but it is hard to ignore him at such a low cost with the weapons that he has. The top RB in the game who loves to catch passes out of the backfield and a WR core that is led by DJ Moore, who is one of the top young WRs in the game, and Robby Anderson who looked totally comfortable in his first game in the offense. Matt Rhule is one hell of a coach and he will have a nice gameplan each week. Tampa will give up passing yards and the Panthers should be playing from behind against Tom Brady and the Bucs. Tom had to answer some questions about his performance after last week, I expect him to come out firing. Even more reason to play Teddy....he has to try to keep up.

Bonus:
Big Ben- He is meshing well with Juju and looks to be back to close to full health. he even ran alittle last week. He will never be the Ben of old but he looks as though he may put up some big games this year and is worth a mini-stack with Juju this week.
Wentz- Cost is still low but this play depends on if Dougie P makes the needed changes to his gameplan to keep Wentz on his feet and get the ball out of his hands quickly. If they plan accordingly he could put up some solid passing numbers and get 2 or more TDs. He also needs to tuck it and run more. When the pocket collapses just hold on to the football and run down field!
Russ and Lamar- they are rarely not good plays. If you can afford to pay up get one of them. Russ is Sunday night so he is only available in some contest.

RB- JOSH JACOBS

I am going back to the wishing well! He plays Monday night so he wont be on many slates but play the ones that he is on . You wont regret it. Kid is a beast!

Bonus: Derrick Henry- a top tier stud. Jags allow 5 yards per carry. Henry is gonna eat.
AP and Swift- The Lions will want to keep the ball out of Aaron Rodgers hands and will lean heavily on their running backs this week.
Hines- He is still priced rather cheap. He will continue to big a big part of the offense as Taylor is phased in more. Use him in these next few weeks while you can. He will go up in price soon and will be losing usage to Taylor as the season progresses.

WR - ALLEN ROBINSON

He wants to get paid and he wants to get paid now! There have been some monster trade rumors all week regarding Robinson. I expect him to come out and shine. Mitchy-Poo knows what a huge weapon Robinson is and he is going to try to keep him happy. I expect him to look early and often to ARob and the Giants secondary is not exactly top of class. This could be a double digit catch and 2 score game for Robinson. His price is very nice too. Sign me up for this play asap.

TE - Mark Andrews

He will be a chalk play but it is hard not to play him. He is Lamar's go to guy and he is our go to guy too this week and for the season.

Bonus Plays:
Eagles Tight ends- Play them both. At least one will score and both will contribute. Wentz is going to need to get rid of the ball fast (like we said leading into last weekend) and the TE across the middle will be his emergency dump offs. Add that to the designed plays and they both should bring you a great return.
OJ Howard- Everyone expected Gronk to steal tds from Howard and Brate after they were in for the entire drive but in actuality Gronk was in for close to 80% of snaps last week and Howard was the TD man. Howard was always looked at as the freak athlete who was about to break out. Brady may be the guy to make that come true and a matchup with the Panthers is ideal for him this week.

D- BUFFALO or SAN FRAN

Don't get cute. Play the top defenses for now until we all get a better idea of who is who this year. I will take any team playing against Miami or the Jets and the fact that it is Buffalo and San Fran this week makes it even better.
