Philly Sports Wave- NFL Week 5 DFS Sleeper Picks
Well, we are at that point in the NFL Season where Covid has caused it to become a complete shitshow. Bye weeks are starting this week, even though only two teams have a bye, and more and more players are testing positive for "The Vid". (Note to Titans: If the NFL tells you not to go to the facility and lift/workout together to prevent the spread, it is not cool to meet up with each other and lift/workout at a location away form the NFL-ran facility!) Hopefully your season long commissioners have added additional IR spots to help work through this. I hope that it does not get worse but it is trending that way.
As for this week, check back on Sunday AM for updates. If any games are postponed or cancelled or any players are forced to sit out like Cam Newton last week our picks and changes will be listed in updates on Sat Night and Sunday Morning.
Chol's WEEK 5 SEXXXY PICKS
QB- Teddy Bridgewater
Clearly, we love the Panthers in this matchup (look at our full picks!). I have leaned on Teddy B to make some $$$ this season so far. He is still underpriced! I haven't used him since a 300+ yard matchup a few weeks ago but I am going to have him in a majority of my lineups this week. His cost will allow me to grab some big guns and hopefully bring down a GPP. Teddy B should thrive against an Atlanta defense that has been getting torched weekly. Bring it home for us Teddy!!!!
RB- Kareem Hunt
He is going to be the featured back for Cleveland while Chubb is out. This is why Hunt is in Cleveland. He still has a ton in the tank and we aren't far from when he was one of the best fantasy backs in football. Lock him and load him in all formats.
Bonus: CEH should have a big game against the Raiders. I can feel a big multi-TD game coming for him. He is pricey but it is worth it.
WR- Will Fuller
Willy from Philly did not disappoint last week and he will once again step it up this week. Fuller is a big time play maker and he always does well when he is on the field. He has the speed and the athletic ability to make plays happen. I am expecting a high scoring offensive performance from the Texans who just got rid of their coach and will allow their stars to step up this week. Stack Fuller with Watson again. There is a high total for this game which is very surprising. Fuller and Watson need to perform to reach the posted number.
Bonus: Play the studs (Russ, Mahomes, Watson, Dak, Kylker and Allen should all perform above or at cost). Burrow is my low cost guy this week besides Teddy B but Teddy will be my go-to.
TE- Hunter Henry
He is that big Tightend target that the Chargers love. With Ekeler out with an injury I expect the focus to move to the Chargers passing game. Henry is the key to the passing attack and as everyone knows, I love tightends with rookie QBs because they always rely on them as a scapegoat when plays break down.
Joey Flacco is not going to save this Jets offense. They are horrible and the Cards should be able to force turnovers and possibly get in the endzone which is the name of the game in DFS.
Bonus: Steelers should get to Wentz a good amount with the Eagles O-line still beat up.
JB’S WEEK 5 PICKS
QB- DESHAUN WATSON
I am going back to the well with this pick because the matchup and circumstances are too good to pass up. Jax’s D is bad and their starting corners are out . I am expecting Watson to shine bright in this one especially with O’Brien being fired. Get him in your lineups once again as he takes this game over from start to finish.
RB- MIKE DAVIS
He has been the workhorse in the offense since CMC went down with his injury becoming a safety valve for Bridgewater. He now gets the Falcons this week who have allowed over 30 receptions to RB’s. Davis has over 20 receptions alone since taking over . Give me Davis here.
WR- ROBBIE ANDERSON
I am bringing this one back with a nice RB/WR stack here as Anderson has somewhat quietly put together a breakout season and is Bridgewater’s go to receiver. As stated above, the Falcons are horrendous on defense and especially struggle against the pass. I am expecting a huge game from Anderson here. I am using him a lot in daily you should too.
TE- ERIC EBRON
He is a big athletic physical athlete. The Eagle’s LB’s and Safeties are not. Ebron will run free and has developed nice chemistry with Big Ben on the young season. Fun fact as well, the Eagles allow the 3rd most points to TE’s this season and over 80% catch rate as we saw with Kittle’s 15 for 15 last week. He is not Kittle but he will still give these LB’s and Safeties trouble all afternoon.
They are playing The Washington Football team, who happen to only be able to score against the Eagles. Also starting their backup QB which is actually an upgrade over Haskins but that really is not saying much at all . Enjoy!!
